Gone for Good, Time & Tide Didn’t Wait

Gloucester Docks. Selected for inclusion in Broadway Arts Festival 2022.

This painting was one of three pictures that were selected for final judging. It shows a section of the original Gloucester Docks that hadn’t yet been developed into the modern use for abandoned docklands. Looking over as I crossed the bridge on a cold bright November day I marvelled at the colours and shapes before me. I stopped and imagined the activity and industry that the buildings once contained. Such work and activity gone for good, gone on the tide of progress that doesn’t wait.
